The PTA Clean Energy program offers teachers the chance to hear directly from both academic and industry experts in renewable energy and economics.Ìý Another highlight of the program is a field trip to visit the National Renewable Energy Lab in Golden, Colorado.
Lodging, materials, and most meals are covered by ÎäËÉ´óÕ½Å˽ðÁ«.Ìý Registrants are responsible for their own travel costs to and from the program site.Ìý All attendees are eligible for a $600 participation stipend and a $150 commuter stipend (if applicable).
Participants who attend the PTA Clean Energy program can expect to receive these benefits:
- An examination of energy-related topics, such as the supply and demand of energy sources in the U.S.; net-zero energy technology trends; storage grid issues; the future of fossil fuels; and the economic factors and opportunity costs behind clean energy transitions
- Field trip to the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL)
- Engage in in-depth lectures taught by university professors and industry experts
- Valuable time to network and collaborate with other educators
