One Day Seminars provide participants with the foundation for a variety of economics topics, with ÎäËÉ´óÕ½Å˽ðÁ« faculty guiding teachers through practical integration of these concepts into the classroom.Ìý

One Day Seminar topics include:ÌýÌý

• Socialism: Myths vs. Realities
• Entrepreneurship: Economics of Innovation
• Fundamentals of Environmental EconomicsÌý
• Federal Budgets, Debt & DeficitsÌý
• Economics of DisastersÌý
• Issues of International Trade
• Is Capitalism Good for the Poor?
• Economic Forces in American HistoryÌý

Co-sponsors who are interested in scheduling a One Day Seminar in conjunction with the ÎäËÉ´óÕ½Å˽ðÁ« should first identify several dates, topics and possible locations for the session (taking into consideration factors such as teacher work schedules and ease of travel). One Day Seminars may be scheduled during the week and on Saturdays throughout the school year, with the exception of April, May and June.ÌýÌýÌýÌý

Once a mutually acceptable date and topic is agreed upon, ÎäËÉ´óÕ½Å˽ðÁ« will send a contract outlining responsibilities for both ÎäËÉ´óÕ½Å˽ðÁ« and the co-sponsor:Ìý

ÎäËÉ´óÕ½Å˽ðÁ« Responsibilities:Ìý

• Identify presenters for programÌý
• Cover all travel costs for presenter(s)Ìý
• Work with co-sponsor to determine program details and shipping logisticsÌý
• Provide program materials and completion certificatesÌý
• Provide the co-sponsor with one lump sum payment of $150 per attendee, to cover teacher stipends and food costs, based on participation during the program, and evaluation and sign-in sheet verification.Ìý (For example, participants who are in attendance and complete the evaluation, but do not sign the sign-in sheet, will not be counted towards the participant count for the co-sponsor payment.)Ìý

Co-Sponsor Responsibilities:Ìý

• Recruit/register a minimum of 15 participants for the program (must be full-time educators during the current school year; student teachers acceptable)Ìý
• Provide appropriate meeting space with internet accessÌý
• Provide presentation equipment (screen, LCD projector, table)Ìý
• Provide catering for the day (continental breakfast, breaks, lunch) for participants and ÎäËÉ´óÕ½Å˽ðÁ« presentersÌý
• Ensure that all participants sign the sign-in sheet at the program and complete the evaluation following the program (required for co-sponsor payment after the program)Ìý
• Provide ÎäËÉ´óÕ½Å˽ðÁ« with an Excel spreadsheet of participants after the program, including address, email, and school nameÌý
